Roehr SuperSport Hyosung GT650R

It’s been a while on the grapevine, the news that Roehr was teaming up with Korean company Hyosung to build an electric street bike. And now we have confirmation of that, with the 2011 Roehr eSuperSport being a lookalike of the Hyosung GT650R. Of course, the former makes do with batteries, electric motors, and an increased price tag. Roehr’s electric powertrain comprises an AC induction motor that belts out 67 hp and 108 Nm of torque. About 7.7 kWh worth of LiFePO4 batteries are packaged inside the GT650R chassis and, employing the Hyosung platform, Roehr is able to provide many features you would expect from a standard motorbike. Priced at around USD 17,995, the bike is claimed to have a top speed in excess of 160 km/h and should do about 120 km or so on a single charge.
